Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang integrasi sosial masyarakat dalam pelaksanaan upacara ngaben masal pada orang Bali di Lampung. Masyarakat Bali di Lampung memiliki karakteristik yang berbeda dengan masyarakat Bali yang berada di Bali. Hal tersebut karena dihadapkan dengan tantangan bahwa masyarakat Bali di Lampung bukan pemilik wilayah, mereka hidup sebagai minoritas di dalam lingkungan masyarakat multikultural. Kondisi ini memungkinkan jika terjadi integrasi maka akan terjadi perbedaan pola dalam pelaksanaan ngaben masal di Lampung dengan pelaksanaan ngaben masal di Bali. Untuk mengkaji hal ini teori gemeinschaft Ferdisnand Tonnies sebagai kontruksi dasar untuk membedah situasi wilayah pedesaan, dan argumentasi tentang integrasi sosial digunakan untuk melihat bagaimana proses integrasi sosial itu terjadi. Kompleksitas permasalahan ini membutuhkan kedalaman informasi sehingga penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi agar mampu menggambarkan kondisi yang ada dilapangan. Hasil dari penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa, proses integrasi sosial asimilasi terjadi ketika dalam pelaksanaan ngaben masal mengalami perubahan yang kontras seperti perubahan kasta melalui simbol dan atribut yang digunakan oleh orang Bali di Lampung. Mereka menganggap hal tersebut merupakan sebuah proses adaptasi sebagai masyarakat migran, akan tetapi sebenarnya itu merupakan sebuah konflik identitas. Hal tersebut didasari oleh sikap toleransi serta hubungan yang baik antar masyarakatnya, selain itu karena masyarakat Hindu yang ada di Lampung mengimplementasikan ajaran Tri Hita Karana. Kata Kunci: Integrasi Sosial, Ngaben Masal, Bali di Lampung. This research examines the social integration of the community in the implementation of the mass ngaben ceremony for Balinese in Lampung. The Balinese community in Lampung have different characteristics from the Balinese community in Bali. This is based on the fact that Balinese people in Lampung are faced with different challenges. They live as a minority group in a multicultural society. so that it is possible for a pattern of integration to occur which leads to changing the ritual of carrying out mass ngaben in Lampung. To analyse this issue, Ferdisnand Tonnies' gemeinschaft theory is used as a basic construction to dissect the situation of rural areas, and the argument about social integration is used to see how the process of social integration happens. The complexity of this problem requires depth of information so that this research uses qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach in order to be able to describe the conditions in the field. The results of this study showed that the process of social integration assimilation occurred when the implementation of ‘ngaben massal’ had contrasting changes such as caste changes through the symbols and attributes used by Balinese in Lampung They believe it is a process of adaptation as a migrant community, but in reality it is a conflict of identity. It is based on the attitude of tolerance and good relations between the communities, in particular due to the fact that the Hindu community in Lampung implements the teachings of Tri Hita Karana.
