Beberapa penelitian terdahulu dari Ascani (2020) Khan (2022) dan Dogan (2023) menyatakan bahwa negara dengan inovasi yang baik dapat meningkatkan daya tarik FDI, negara inovatif seperti Amerika Serikat dan Swedia memiliki FDI yag cukup tinggi, namun hal ini tidak terjadi pada Swiss yang pada kenyataannya memiliki peringkat inovasi lebih tinggi dari kedua negara tersebut. Dalam kurun waktu lima tahun terakhir, tepatnya pada tahun 2019-2023 Swiss memiliki FDI net inflows yang cukup rendah untuk ukuran negara inovatif, bahkan FDI net inflows Swiss sampai menyentuh angka minus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan FDI net inflows negara paling inovatif di dunia dengan membandingkan Swiss, Amerika Serikat, dan Swedia. Untuk mewujudkan tujuan penelitian di atas, penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan melakukan komparasi dari tiga negara inovatif yaitu Swiss, Swedia, dan Amerika Serikat, dengan bantuan analisis menggunakan teori eklektik milik John Dunning, menurut Dunning terdapat tiga aspek pertimbangan bagi investor asing dalam menanamkan FDI, yaitu ownership, location, dan internalization advantages. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mengkaji literature (literature review). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Swiss, Amerika Serikat dan Swedia memiliki persamaan dalam Ownership Advantage, tetapi ketiganya memiliki perbedaan dalam Location dan Internalization advantage. Mulai dari upah tenaga kerja, sistem pembayaran pajak, ukuran pasar, hingga kebijakan internalisasi yang diberikan terhadap investor asing. Kata kunci : inovasi, FDI net inflows, Swiss,Swedia,Amerika Serikat Some previous studies from Ascani (2020) Khan (2022) and Dogan (2023) state that countries with good innovation can increase the attractiveness of FDI, innovative countries such as the United States and Sweden have quite high FDI, but this is not the case with Switzerland which in fact has a higher innovation ranking than the two countries. In the last five years, to be precise in 2019-2023, Switzerland has net FDI inflows that are quite low for the size of an innovative country, even Swiss net FDI inflows touched the minus number. This study aims to determine the differences in FDI net inflows of the most innovative countries in the world by comparing Switzerland, the United States, and Sweden. To realize the above research objectives, this study uses a qualitative method by comparing three innovative countries, namely Switzerland, Sweden, and the United States, with the help of analysis using John Dunning's eclectic theory, according to Dunning there are three aspects of consideration for foreign investors in investing FDI, namely ownership, location, and internalization advantages. Data collection is done by reviewing literature (literature review). The results show that Switzerland, the United States and Sweden have similarities in Ownership Advantage, but all three have differences in Location and Internalization advantage. Starting from labor wages, tax payment systems, market size, to internalization policies given to foreign investors. Key words : innovation, FDI net inflows, Switzerland,Sweden,United States
