Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh self-confidence terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 10 Bandar Lampung semester genap tahun pelajaran 2024/2025 yang berjumlah 307 siswa yang terdistribusi ke dalam sepuluh kelas, yaitu kelas VII-1 sampai VII-10. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VII-8 yang dipilih menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling, dengan banyak siswa yang digunakan sebagai sampel adalah 29 siswa. Data penelitian ini berupa data kuantitatif yang diperoleh dari pengisian angket self-confidence dan tes uraian kemampuan komunikasi matematis pada materi segiempat. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah analisis regresi linier sederhana dengan α = 0,05. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah self-confidence memiliki pengaruh positif yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa, dengan persamaan regresi Y =-1,472 + 0.256X yang artinya semakin tinggi self-confidence siswa maka kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa juga akan semakin tinggi. Kata kunci: self-confidence, kemampuan komunikasi matematis This study aims to determine the effect of self-confidence on students' mathematical communication skills. The population of this study was all students of class VII of SMP Negeri 10 Bandar Lampung in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year, totaling 307 students distributed into ten classes, namely classes VII-1 to VII-10. The sample in this study was class VII-8 which was selected using the cluster random sampling technique, with the number of students used as samples being 29 students. The data of this study were quantitative data obtained from filling out the self-confidence questionnaire and the essay test of mathematical communication skills on the quadrilateral material. The data analysis technique used in this study was simple linear regression analysis with a = 0.05. The conclusion of this study is that self-confidence has a significant positive effect on students' mathematical communication skills, with the regression equation Y = -1.472 + 0.256X, which means that the higher the students' self-confidence, the higher the students' mathematical communication skills will be.
