Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan mengenai kepekaan sosial pada mahasiswa PPKn di Universitas Lampung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media sosial terhadap kepekaan sosial mahasiswa PPKn di Universitas Lampung. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa PPKn di Universitas Lampung angkatan 2021, 2022, 2023, dan 2024. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 80 responden yang dipilih dengan teknik random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket sebagai teknik pokok dan wawancara sebagai teknik penunjang. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji regresi linier sederhana, dengan pengolahan data menggunakan SPSS versi 27. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan dan pengujian hipotesis yang dilakukan oleh peneliti mengenai pengaruh penggunaan media sosial terhadap kepekaan sosial mahasiswa PPKn di Universitas Lampung, diperoleh hasil bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan media sosial (Variabel X) terhadap kepekaan sosial (Variabel Y) sebesar 10,6%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media sosial berpengaruh terhadap kepekaan sosial mahasiswa PPKn di Universitas Lampung. Penggunaan media sosial berisiko memicu terjadinya cyberbullying dan insecure. Meski demikian, media sosial juga memberikan dampak positif dalam memengaruhi kepekaan sosial khususnya di kalangan mahasiswa. Melalui interaksi, diskusi, partisipasi, dan berbagai jenis konten di media sosial, mahasiswa dapat mengetahui dan mempelajari berbagai isu-isu sosial yang terjadi. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media sosial turut membentuk kepekaan sosial di kalangan mahasiswa PPKn di Universitas Lampung. Kata Kunci : Media Sosial, Kepekaan Sosial, Mahasiswa This research is motivated by the problem of social sensitivity among PPKn students at the University of Lampung. This study aimed to determine the effect of social media use on the social sensitivity of PPKn students at the University of Lampung. The method used in this study was a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The population of this study consisted of PPKn students at the University of Lampung from the 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 cohorts. The sample consisted of 80 respondents selected using a random sampling technique. Data collection techniques involved a questionnaire as the main method and interviews as a supporting method. The data analysis technique used a simple linear regression test, with data processed using SPSS version 27. Based on the results of the calculations and hypothesis testing conducted by the researcher regarding the influence of social media use on the social sensitivity of PPKn students at the University of Lampung, it was found that there was an effect of social media use (Variable X) on social sensitivity (Variable Y) of 10.6%. The research results showed that social media use affected the social sensitivity of PPKn students at the University of Lampung. The use of social media carried the risk of triggering cyberbullying and feelings of insecurity. Nevertheless, social media also had a positive impact on influencing social sensitivity, especially among students. Through interaction, discussion, participation, and exposure to various types of content on social media, students were able to learn about and understand various social issues. Based on these findings, it was concluded that social media use contributed to the development of social sensitivity among PPKn students at the University of Lampung.
