Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peranan ketua kelompok tani dalam meningkatkan fungsi kelompok tani. Kelompok tani dibentuk untuk membantu petani menyelesaikan persoalan bersama di bidang pertanian Penguatan kelompok tani penting untuk meningkatkan produktivitas, hasil panen, pendapatan, dan kesejahteraan petani. Pemberdayaan yang efektif dilakukan melalui organisasi petani itu sendiri, dengan peranan ketua kelompok yang strategis. Mengetahui persepsi petani terhadap peranan ketua kelompok, fungsi kelompok tani, hubungan peranan ketua kelompok dengan fungsi kelompok. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada April–Mei 2025 di Desa Bagelen, Kecamatan Gedong Tataan, dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 45 orang petani. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah survei, dengan analisis data secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan pengujian korelasi menggunakan Rank Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peranan ketua kelompok tani tergolong baik, ditandai dengan kemampuan menciptakan terobosan, komunikasi efektif, memberikan motivasi, tanggung jawab dalam pengawasan sumber daya, serta kemampuan menyelesaikan konflik internal. Fungsi kelompok tani juga tergolong cukup baik dalam hal sebagai kelas belajar dan wahana kerja sama, di mana petani dapat saling berbagi pengetahuan dan bekerja sama dalam kegiatan pertanian serta membangun relasi dengan pihak luar. Namun, peranan ketua kelompok belum berhubungan dengan fungsi kelompok tani sebagai unit produksi, karena kelompok belum menyediakan fasilitas pengolahan dan pemasaran hasil tani. Farmer groups are established to help farmers address common agricultural challenges. Strengthening these groups is crucial for enhancing productivity, crop yields, income, and the overall welfare of farmers. Effective empowerment is carried out through the farmers' organization itself, with the group leader playing a strategic role. The study focuses on understanding farmers' perceptions of the group leader’s role, the functions of the group, and the relationship between the leader's role and the group's functions. Data collection took place from April to May 2025 in Bagelen Village, Gedong Tataan District, with 45 farmer respondents. The research used a survey method, with data analyzed through descriptive quantitative analysis and Spearman’s Rank correlation testing. The results indicate that the role of the farmer group leader is considered good, demonstrated by the ability to create innovations, effective communication, providing motivation, taking responsibility for resource supervision, and resolving internal conflicts. The function of the farmer group is also regarded as fairly good in terms of being a learning platform and a cooperative space, where farmers can exchange knowledge, collaborate in agricultural activities, and build relationships with external parties. However, the role of the group leader is not connected to the group’s function as a production unit, as the group has not yet provided facilities for processing and marketing agricultural products.
