Abstract

Kawasan hutan memiliki peran penting sebagai penyangga utama dari kelestarian lingkungan hidup. Pemerintah menetapkan hutan berdasarkan fungsi pokok atas hutan konservasi, hutan lindung, dan hutan produksi. Pengelolaan lahan di bawah tegakan hutan dianggap sebagai salah satu cara alternatif yang efektif untuk memperbaiki dan meningkatkan kualitas lahan yang berada di kawasan sekitar hutan. salah satu solusi dengan memadukan kegiatan produktif seperti penanaman tanaman pangan, pakan ternak, atau kegiatan konservasi yang tetap menjaga keutuhan ekosistem yang ada di dalam hutan. Budidaya tumbuhan bawah di bawah tegakan salah satu pemanfaatan lahan yang dilakukan. Tumbuhan bawah merupakan komponen sebuah penyusun dari ekosistem hutan. Optimalisasi lahan melalui tegakan pohon dan tumbuhan bawah merupakan salah satu pemanfaatan yang bagus dalam penerapan sistem agroforestri seperti tegakan pohon di kebun hutan dengan tumbuhan bawah seperti kunyit, lempuyang, lengkuas, serai dan cabai. Pola pemanfaatan kebun hutan di areal Garapan KTH Harapan Baru III telah berjalan dengan baik dari sistem tumpang sari dan adaptasi pada Lingkungan mikro yang menunjukkan bahwa agroforestri yang berkualitas. Kata kunci: tumbuhan bawah, tegakan pohon, kondisi ekologis. Forest areas have an important role as the main buffer for environmental sustainability. The government determines forests based on the main function of conservation forests, protected forests, and production forests. Land management under forest stands is considered as one of the effective alternative ways to improve and enhance the quality of land in the area around the forest. One solution is to combine productive activities such as planting food crops, animal feed, or conservation activities that maintain the integrity of the ecosystem in the forest. Cultivation of understorey plants under stands is one of the land uses that is carried out. Understorey plants are a component of a forest ecosystem. Optimizing land through tree stands and understorey plants is one of the good uses in the application of agroforestry systems such as tree stands in forest gardens with understorey plants such as turmeric, galangal, galangal, lemongrass and chili. The pattern of forest garden utilization in the KTH Harapan Baru III Garapan area has been running well from the intercropping system and adaptation to the microenvironment which shows that quality agroforestry Key words: understory plants, tree stands, ecological conditions.
