Abstract

Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a progressive disease that requires hemodialysis therapy and is often accompanied by anemia. One of the supportive therapies for anemia in CKD patients is folic acid, the success of which is influenced by the level of patient compliance. Methods: This study was an observational cross-sectional study of 70 CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis and receiving folic acid therapy at Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek Provincial Hospital in Lampung from October 2025. Data were collected using the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale-8 (MMAS-8) questionnaire and analyzed descriptively. Results: The majority of respondents were male, aged 18–59 years, with a secondary education, undergoing hemodialysis for 12–24 months, with hypertension as the main comorbidity. The level of compliance with folic acid use was dominated by high compliance (57%), followed by moderate compliance (23%) and low compliance (20%). Conclusion: The majority of CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis had good adherence to folic acid use, but education and monitoring are still needed. Latar belakang: Gagal ginjal kronis (GGK) merupakan penyakit progresif yang memerlukan terapi hemodialisa dan sering disertai anemia. Salah satu terapi pendukung anemia pada pasien GGK adalah asam folat, yang keberhasilannya dipengaruhi oleh tingkat kepatuhan pasien. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional dengan desain crosssectional pada 70 pasien GGK yang menjalani hemodialisa dan mendapatkan terapi asam folat di RSUD Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek Provinsi Lampung periode Oktober 2025. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner Morisky Medication Adherence Scale-8 (MMAS-8) dan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil: Mayoritas responden adalah laki-laki, berusia 18–59 tahun, berpendidikan Menengah, menjalani hemodialisa selama 12–24 bulan, dengan penyakit penyerta utama hipertensi. Tingkat kepatuhan penggunaan asam folat didominasi oleh kepatuhan tinggi (57%), diikuti kepatuhan sedang (23%) dan rendah (20%). Kesimpulan: Mayoritas pasien GGK yang menjalani hemodialisa memiliki tingkat kepatuhan yang baik dalam penggunaan asam folat, namun edukasi dan pemantauan tetap diperlukan.
