Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengembangkan e-modul Bahasa Inggris untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca peserta didik, (2) mengetahui kelayakan e-modul yang dikembangkan, dan (3) menganalisis efektivitas e-modul dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca peserta didik kelas VIII SMPN 12 Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan menggunakan model ADDIE yang meliputi tahap analysis, design, development, implementation, dan evaluation. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses pengembangan e-modul dilakukan secara sistematis berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan, kurikulum, materi, dan karakteristik peserta didik. Produk e-modul yang dihasilkan memuat materi teks deskriptif, contoh teks, serta latihan interaktif yang mendukung keterampilan membaca. Hasil uji kelayakan menunjukkan bahwa e-modul berada pada kategori sangat layak, dengan skor rata-rata validasi ahli materi sebesar 4,4 dan ahli media sebesar 4,6 pada skala 1–5, atau skor sebesar 88% dari ahli materi dan 92% dari ahli media. Efektivitas e-modul diuji melalui perbandingan hasil pretest dan posttest pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai kelas eksperimen sebesar 80,99 lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol sebesar 64,68. Selain itu, nilai minimum pada kelas eksperimen juga lebih tinggi, yang menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan yang lebih merata. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa e- modul efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca peserta didik. Secara keseluruhan, e-modul Bahasa Inggris yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid, layak, dan efektif sebagai bahan ajar untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca peserta didik kelas VIII. Penggunaan e-modul juga memberikan dampak positif terhadap motivasi dan keterlibatan peserta didik dalam pembelajaran. This research aims to: (1) develop an English e-module to improve students' reading skills, (2) determine the feasibility of the developed e-module, and (3) analyze the effectiveness of the e-module in improving the reading skills of eighth-grade students at SMPN 12 Bandar Lampung. This study is a Research and Development (R&D) project employing the ADDIE model, which consists of the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation phases. The results indicate that the e-module development process was carried out systematically based on the analysis of needs, curriculum, materials, and student characteristics. The e-module contains descriptive text materials, text examples, and interactive exercises that support reading skills. The feasibility test results show that the e-module is in the "highly feasible" category, with an average validation score of 4.4 from content experts and 4.6 from media experts on a scale of 1–5 or 88% score from content experts and 92% from media expert on the scale of percentage. The effectiveness of the e-module was tested by comparing pre-test and post- test results between the experimental and control classes. The findings reveal that the average score of the experimental class (80.99) was higher than that of the control class (64.68). Furthermore, the minimum score in the experimental class was also higher, indicating a more even improvement in ability. These findings demonstrate that the e- module is effective in improving students' reading skills. Overall, the developed English e-module is valid, feasible, and effective as an instructional material to enhance the reading skills of eighth-grade students. The use of the e-module also has a positive impact on students' motivation and engagement in learning. Keywords: e-module, reading skills, English, ADDIE, descriptive text.
