Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)

ABSTRAK INDONESIA Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran guru IPS dalam pembentukan karakter peserta didik serta faktor yang mempengaruhi peran guru IPS dalam pembentukan karakter peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa peran guru IPS sebagai pendidik diwujudkan dengan merencanakan pembelajaran, mengarahkan bakat dan kemampuan peserta didik, bertanggung jawab dan mewujudkan kewibawaan. Guru IPS sebagai pengajar diwujudkan dengan merencanakan pembelajaran serta melaksanakan perencanaan pembelajaran tersebut. Guru IPS sebagai teladan diwujudkan dalam keteladanan penampilan, bertutur kata, pergaulan, dan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan. Guru IPS sebagai pelatih diwujudkan dengan membangun kesadaran peserta didik, mencontohkan, dan melakukan karakter yang diajarkan bersama guru dan peserta didik. Faktor yang mendukung peran guru IPS dalam pembentukan karakter peserta didik adalah pemahaman guru terhadap tugas dan fungsinya, memahami visi dan misi sekolah, kesungguhan dalam menjalankan pekerjaan sebagai guru, memiliki empat kompetensi dasar seorang guru, kerja sama dengan seluruh pihak sekolah, serta dukungan dari orang tua peserta didik, sedangkan faktor penghambat peran guru dalam pembentukan karakter peserta didik adalah terjadi miskomunikasi dengan pihak sekolah dan yayasan terkait ketegasan guru dalam membentuk karakter siswa, selain itu orang tua peserta didik tidak mendukung 100% itikad baik yang dilakukan oleh guru disekolah dalam membentuk karakter baik dalam diri peserta didiknya. Kata kunci: peran guru, guru IPS, pembentukan karakter ABSTRAK INGGRIS This research aims to assess the role of social studies teachers in the character formation of students as well as the factors affecting the social studies teacher's role in built the character of students. The method used in this research is qualitative with phenomenological approach. Results of this research stated that the role of social studies teachers as educators realized by planned lessons, directed talents and abilities of learners, responsible and realize authority. Social studies teacher teaching plan is realized by learning and implementing the learning plan. Social teachers as role models embodied in exemplary performances, spoken word, social, and environmental awareness. Social teachers as coach realized by building awareness of students, giving sample, and do characters that are taught together with teachers and learners. Factors that support the role of social studies teachers in the character formation of students is teachers' understanding of the duties and functions, understand the vision and mission of the school, the seriousness in running a job as a teacher, has four basic competence of a teacher, in cooperation with the entire school, as well as the support from student’s parent, while inhibiting factor the teacher's role in built the character of students is miscommunication with the school and the foundation associated firmness of teachers in built the character of the students, in addition to the parents of learners do not support 100% well itikad that has done by teachers in schools in form a good character within learners.
