Abstrak

bstract The aim of this research is to find out the effect of the application of cooperative learning model-jigsaw. Towards the increase of students learning activities and Biology achievement. The subject of the research is the students of grade VII A, VII B, and VII C of semester2, academic year 2008/2009 SMPN 2 Bandar Lampung. The subject is decided through random cluster sampling. The parameter of the research is the increase of students learning activities and students learning achievement. In this research there are three kinds of data collected, they are the students learning activities and achievement, the effectiveness appearance of students cooperative skills, and the teacher’s activities in the learning process. To collect the data , the researcher use observation sheets and test in every cycle. Then the data is analyzed qualitatively by explaining objectively, and the qualitative data is analyzed in percentage. The conclusion of the result is that the application of cooperative learning model Jigsaw to grade 7 students can increase students learning activities, increase students achievement in Biology, and the percentage of learning outcome from cycle 1 to 2 is greater than from cycle 2 to 3 in grade 7 B and 7 C.
