ABSTRACT THE ROLE OF A SCRIPT WRITER IN PRODUCTION PROCESS TALK SHOW PROGRAM NEO DEMOCRAZY ON METRO TV (Study In Creative Team Of Production Process Talk Show Program Neo Democrazy Metro TV In Jakarta) By FITRI DAMAYANTI The background of this research is about handling broadcasting station to create a lot of creativities to produce some interesting programs. The researcer made talk show program Neo Democrazy that is political discussion program on Metro TV as her subject of research. This program shows the discussion about democration in Indonesia including to find bright spots and solutions of nations actual problem but covering into parody, by showing fresh humors and presenting informen that are compatiblein their field based on the topic that is appointed. Problem statement of this research is how the role of script witer in production process talk show program Neo Democrazy on Metro TV been. This research is focused on pre-production step when appointing ide process, planning, and preparation of a program production is done. Especially, in this step of production script making which is done by the script writer. The goal of this research is to describe the role of a script individually in creative team program in production process talk show program neo Democrazy on Metro TV. This research uses descriptive research method by using qualitative approach to know the role of the script writer in the process of neo Democrazy talk show production. The result shows that role of script writer is exactly important because the decisive the plot production of a television program. Making a discussion script that covered with parody is a difficult work because every content can’t be convert into parody. The script writer on neo Democrazy does not only make the script but also built the connection whith the host of the talk show so that, the talk show has a soul. Improtant role of script writer to making script of political parody discussion program is entertaining but still having news value and political education. ABSTRAK PERAN PENULIS NASKAH/SCRIPT WRITER DALAM PROSES PRODUKSI PROGRAM TALK SHOW NEO DEMOCRAZY DI METRO TV (Studi pada Tim Kreatif Program Talk Show Neo Democrazy di Metro TV Jakarta) Oleh FITRI DAMAYANTI Latar belakang pada penelitian ini adalah pengelolaan stasiun penyiaran dalam menciptakan kreativitas seluas mungkin untuk menghasilkan berbagai program yang menarik. Peneliti menjadikan program talk show Neo Democrazy yang merupakan sebuah acara diskusi politik di Metro TV sebagai subjek penelitian. Program acara in menampilkan diskusi mengenai demokrasi di Indonesia besertamencari titik terang dan solusi dari maslah aktual bangsa namun dibalut dalam bentuk parodi dengan menampilkan humor-humor segar dan menghadirkan narasumber yang memiliki kompetensi dibidangnya sesuai dengan topik yang diangkat. Rumusan masalah pada penelitian ini adalah bagaimana peran penulis naskah/script writer dalam proses produksi program talk show Neo Democrazy di Metro TV. Penelitian ini terfokus pada tahapan praproduksi dimana proses penentuan ide, perencanaan, dan persiapan produksi dalam sebuah program dilakukan. Terutama pada tahapan pembuatan naskah produksi yang dilakukan oleh penulis naskah program. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran penulis naskah secara individu di dalam tim kreatif program dalam proses produksi talk show Neo Democrazy di Metro TV. Metrode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran penulis naskah dalam proses produksi program talk show Neo Democrazy. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa peran penulis naskah memang besar karena menentukan alur produksi sebuah program televisi. Membuat naskah perbincangan yang dibawakan dengan parodi merupakan hal yang sulit karena tidak semua materi dapat diparodikan. Penulis naskah pada talk show Neo Democrazy Metro TV tidak hanya membuat naskah tetapi juga membangun koneksi diantara pengisi acarasehingga acara ini memiliki “nyawa”. Peran penting penulis naskah dalam membuat naskah bincang-bincang parodi politik yang jenaka dan menghibur namun tidak kehilangan nilai berita dan pendidikan polititik didalamnya.
