ABSTRACT THE PERFORMANCE OF GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL BADAN NARKOTIKA PROVINSI (BNP) LAMPUNG IN THE RESPONSE TO DRUG ABUSE By REZA PUTRA PERDANA Problems of Narcotics abusement, Psychotropics and Addictive Substance or in a popular term is well-known as DRUGS. DRUGS is a very complex problem. From existing data, drug abusement is done at most between the ages of 15-24 years. It seems, young generation is a strategic target of drugs illicit traffics. Facts prove that the illicit traffic of drugs now has been expanded into areas of Lampung Province, according to the data up to September 2009 the case of carrying 641 men and 35 women arrested as drug traffickers, so the danger of drug abusement became a serious threat to the life of the young generation. In order to determine the performance government official Badan Narkotika Provinsi (BNP) Lampung in the response to drug abuse, the author uses the theory proposed by Wibowo, to find out the performance can be seen from the standard achievement, purpose, competence, feedback, tools, means, motives and opportunities. The methods used in the process of this research using a qualitative descriptive approach. Materials and data that is used in this study derived from primary and secondary data. Methods of collection data is used by interviewing and documenting. Based on research results, showing the performance of official government of Badan Narkotika Provinsi (BNP) Lampung in the response to drug abuse of narcotics is still less than the maximum, it could be seen through the achievement of the goals which there are few employees who do not understand the task division of each field, standard in work performances is already good enough, the feedback in suggestions and critics is not fully carried out in order to improve the performance, lack of equipment and facilities, competences that have not executed well, the low motive of employees in the performance of duties, opportunity in raising the performance has not been fully implemented.
