Abstract
This research aims at improving the activity and student learning outcomes in the learning of Social Sciences ( IPS ) using Process Skills Approach . The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research ( CAR), which consists of three cycles , each cycle includes planning , implementation , observation and reflection . Data collection techniques using the techniques of observation and a written test . The results of this study showed an increase in : ( 1 ) student learning activities , indicators achieved in the second cycle as did the three cycles , the better the results , ( 2 ) student learning outcomes , the second cycle indicator has also reached three further cycles of increasing and ≥ 85 % . Keywords : process skills, learning activities, and learning outcomes Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) dengan menggunakan Pendekatan Keterampilan Proses. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari tiga siklus, setiap siklus meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi dan tes tertulis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pada: (1) aktivitas belajar siswa, indikator tercapai pada siklus kedua begitupun pada siklus tiga hasilnya semakin baik, (2) hasil belajar siswa, siklus kedua indikatornya juga sudah tercapai selanjutnya siklus tiga semakin meningkat dan ≥ 85%.
