Background: Burnout is a condition where a person experiences physical and mental exhaustion due to prolonged stress which is characterized by physical and emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and low individual achievement. Personality type and social support contribute to burnout. Methods: This study used a cross sectional research method. The population in this study were health workers (doctors, nurses and midwives) with a total sample of 296 people. The sampling technique in this study was simple random sampling. This study looked for the relationship between personality type and social support with burnout among health workers at Abdul Moeloek Hospital Lampung Province. Results: Respondents with introverted personality types experienced more burnout (65.5%). Respondents with high social support experienced burnout, namely the support of superiors 48.6%, colleagues 45.4% and family 45%. Based on research that has been done, the tendency of introverted personality types has an influence on burnout in health workers. In social support (bosses, co-workers and family), the higher the social support, the lower the burnout. Conclusion: In this study, the p value of 0.001 (p < 0.05) was obtained for personality type and the p value of 0.001 (p < 0.05) for social support so that there was a relationship between personality type and social support with burnout in health workers at Abdul Moeloek Hospital Lampung Province.
