This study aims to examine the improvement of students’ English speaking ability by using audio listening-based learning methods. Using pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test model, 15 high school students were selected as participants. The study involved administering a pre-test, implementing an audio listening-based learning intervention, and conducting a post-test to measure improvements in speaking ability. Data analysis was performed using a paired sample t-test.The results indicate that there is an improvement in students’ speaking skills, with the average score increasing from 9.68 in the pre-test to 14.52 in the post-test. Comprehension showed the highest improvement of 1.30 points, while grammar exhibited the lowest increase of 0.60 points. Statistical analysis confirmed the effectiveness of audio listening-based learning in improving fluency and comprehension in speaking. In conclusion, this method positively impacts students’ speaking performance, especially in terms of fluency and comprehension. However, grammar improvement remains limited, which suggests the need for explicit grammar instruction. This study emphasizes the potential of integrating audio-based learning in English language teaching while recommending a balanced approach to achieve optimal learning outcomes. Keywords: audio listening based learning method, speaking ability, improvement
