Abstract

This research aims to develop and validate supplementary English for Specific Purposes (ESP) reading materials for X grade students of the Computer and Network Engineering program at SMKN 7 Bandar Lampung. This study applied a Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model. Data were collected through needs analysis questionnaires and students’ response questionnaire distributed to 30 students, semi-structured interviews with two English teachers, and expert judgment questionnaires administered to two experts. The materials were developed based on the findings, evaluated using the BSNP (2014) textbook criteria, revised according to expert feedback, and implemented in a classroom try-out. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that expert validation reached an average score of 4.3, categorized as “very good,” while the students’ responses achieved an average score of 4.1, categorized as “good.” In conclusion, the developed ESP Reading materials are feasible for use, support vocabulary enrichment, enhances reading comprehension, and motivates students through contextual and engaging activities.
