Abstrak

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis mata kuliah Akuntansi pada mahasiswa semester I Pendidikan Ekonomi di Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa dengan menggunakan metode pemecahan masalah. Metode yang dipergunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari tiga siklus, meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik tes untuk mengetahui tingkat kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian di akhir siklus III, menunjukkan nilai hasil kemampuan berpikir kritis yang tuntas sebesar 39 mahasiswa atau 93% dari 42 mahasiswa, terlihat pada indikator berpikir kritis meliputi kemampuan menganalisis diperoleh presentase sebesar 87%, kemampuan mensintesis diperoleh presentase sebesar 88%, kemampuan memecahkan masalah diperoleh presentase sebesar 84%, kemampuan menyimpulkan diperoleh presentase sebesar 86%, kemampuan mengevaluasi diperoleh presentase sebesar 84%, dan kemampuan mengambil keputusan diperoleh presentase sebesar 79%. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah, penggunaan metode pemecahan masalah (problem solving) efektif dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis secara optimal pada mahasiswa Semester I Program Studi Pendidikan Ekonomi FKIP UM Metro pada Mata Kuliah Akuntansi. ABSTRACT This research in the backdrop low ability to think of critical thinking skills course first semester student of Accounting in Economic Education at the University of Muhammadiyah Metro. This study aims to improve students' critical thinking skills using problem solving methods. The method used in this research is the Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consists of three cycles, including planning, execution, observation, and reflection. Data collection was done by using a test to determine the level of students' critical thinking skills. Results of the study at the end of the third cycle, showing the value of the critical thinking skills that completed by 39 students or 93% of 42 students, seen in indicators of critical thinking involves the ability to analyze the obtained percentage of 87%, the ability to synthesize obtained a percentage of 88%, the percentage of problem-solving skills acquired by 84%, the ability to conclude obtained a percentage of 86%, the ability to evaluate the percentage of 84% was obtained, and the ability to take a decision obtained by a percentage of 79%. Conclusions of this study are, the use of methods of solving problems can effectively improve critical thinking skills optimally in the first semester students of the Economic Studies Program at the Metro UM FKIP Accounting Course.
