Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)
This reserach aims to implement learning method which can improve the character values of the student as nurturant effect in teaching and learning process by comparing learning method based on problems which was given by the teacher to be solved in group or individually in learning sociology. Character values are not taught like other academic subjects but they are internalized during teaching and learning process. The researcher used quasi experimental research method in conducting this research. Observation sheet and test are used as the instruments. In analysing the data, the researcher used tabulation to see the improvement of character values and T-test to know the difference of student learning result. The result of this research shows that the students is better in developing their character bulding when they are asked to solve some problems in group than solving them individually. Along with that result, the average score of the student learning result also shows better when the learning process with problem solving basis was done cooperatively in group compared to the learning result which the process of problem solving is done individually. Keyword : character values, learning result, group PBL. Individually PBL Tujuan penelitian untuk menerapkan model pembelajaran yang dapat mengembangkan nilai karakter yang merupakan dampak pengiring (nurturant effects) dalam pembelajaran, dengan membandingkan pembelajaran berbasis masalah secara kelompok lebih baik dbandingkan dengan pmbelajaran berbasis masalah secara individu dalam pembelajaran sosiologi. Nilai karakter tidak diajarkan seperti mata pelajaran akan tetapi diinternalisasikan melalui proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen quasy (eksperimen semu). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi dan tes dengan instrumen berupa lembar observasi dan tes bentuk esay. Analisis data menggunakan analisis diskriptif kualitatif untuk melihat perubahan nilai karakter dan t-tes untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai karakter yang menggunakan pembelajaran berbasis masalah secara kelompok lebih baik dibandingkan dengan nilai karakter yang menggunakan pembelajaran berbasis masalah secara individu. Demikian pula rerata hasil belajar yang menggunakan pembelajaran berbasis masalah secara kelompok lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan rerata hasil belajar yang menggunakan pembelajaran berbasis masalah secara individu.
