Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)
ABSTRAK Fokus penelitian adalah peran kepala sekolah dalam supervisi akademik untuk meningkatkan profesionalisme guru. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendreskripsikan: 1) Kemampuan guru sebelum dilaksanakan supervisi akademik, 2) Perencanaan supervisi akademik, 3) Pelaksanaan supervisi akademik, 4) Evaluasi supervisi akademik, 5) Tanggapan guru terhadap supervisi akademik oleh kepala sekolah. Jenis penelitian adalah kualitatif dengan rancangan studi kasus, teknik pengumpulan data melalui pengamatan/observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Sumber data adalah kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah, guru, komite, pengawas. Pengecekan keabsahan data dilakukan dengan triangulasi, yaitu sebagai penguji keabsahan data yang diperoleh dari berbagai sumber, metode, dan waktu. Hasil penelitian diperoleh : 1) Guru SMP Budaya sebelum mengajar telah dibekali beberapa kemampuan membuat perangkat pembelajaran, sebagian besar telah siap di supervisi akademik oleh tim supervisi sekolah, dinas pendidikan kota dan tim supervisi pendidikan provinsi, 2) Perencanaan program supervisi oleh tim supervisi untuk pertimbangan orientasi untuk ditindaklanjuti dalam bentuk latihan peningkatan profesionalisme guru, 3) Kepala Sekolah dan tim supervisi sekolah telah melaksanakan supervisi berdasarkan atas usulan dan kebutuhan guru untuk meningkatkan kompetensi serta pelaksanaan supervisi disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan guru bidang studi dan kondisi sekolah daerah sendiri, 4) Tim supervisi melakukan evaluasi supervisi untuk menyempurnakan bahan supervisi lanjutan, 5) Guru mempunyai paradigma positif dilaksanakannya supervisi akademik dapat meningkatkan profesionalisme guru. Kata kunci: Kepala Sekolah, Supervisi Akademik, Profesionalisme Guru ABSTRACT This study focuses on roles of the principal in academic supervision to improve teacher professionalism, a case study in SMP Budaya (Budaya Junior Secondary School) Bandar Lampung. The aim of this study was to describe: 1) teacher competence prior to academic supervision implementation, 2) academic supervision plan by the principal, 3) implementation of academic supervision by the principal, 4) Evaluation of academic supervision by the principal, and 5) teachers’ responses to the academic supervision by the principal. This study used a qualitative case study design. The data were collected using observation, interviews , documentation, and triangulation. The data sources were the principal, vice-principals, teachers, school committee, students, supervisors, and foundation. Validity of the data was checked using triangulation, by comparing results of observation with those of documentation and interviews. Results of this study are : 1) Preparation of supervision programs as realized by a team of supervision was considered very important based on the considerations that there was the need of orientation for all the teachers of SMP Budaya in the form of special training of teachers for improving learning and teaching prosess in the classroom, improving competence and professionalism of teachers and developing human resources, 2) The principal was assisted by teachers and school supervision team to be able to implement the school program. The implementation of supervision was based on the proposal and the teachers’ need to improve the competence of teachers, and the implementation of supervision was tailored to the needs of study program teachers and school conditions/school region, 3) The supervision team was morally responsible for the implementation of supervision up to the evaluation of supervision and monitoring in the field to explore the weaknesses of the teachers; then further supervision was conducted, 4) Effect of supervision on teachers in SMP Budaya was able to change the paradigm of the meaning of supervision in the school to improve the competence and professionalism of teachers in conducting their duties as teachers so that the learning and teaching process could achieve their objectives.
