Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)
ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Bagaimakankah penggunaan metode diskusi kelompok untuk meningkatkan nilai karakter peserta didik di Kelas VIII.A SMP Negeri 2 Pugung. Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian tindakan kelas. Obyek Penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII.ASMP Negeri 2 Pugung Tahun Pelajaran 2012/2013 sebanyak 30 siswa. Data tentang nilai karakter peserta didik diperoleh melalaui lembar observasi yang dilakukan oleh observer ketika guru melakuakan pembelajaran. Sedangkan data tentang kemampuan pelaksanaan pembelajaran guru diperoleh melalaui Lembar IPKG. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan metode diskusi kelompok dapat meningkatkan nilai karakter peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPS. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dengan Peningkatan nilai karakter peserta didik dari siklus ke siklus. Pada siklus 1 peserta didik yang mencapai nilai karakter hanya 10 siswa atau 33,3%. Pada siklus ke 2 meningkat menjadi 15 siswa atau 50 %. Dan pada sikluus ke 3 meninggkat menjadi 26 siswa atau 87%. Kemudian mengenai pelaksanaan pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh guru dari siklus ke siklus juga semakin baik.hal ini dapat dilihat dari siklus I guru memperoleh nilai 64 pada siklus II memperoleh 74, dan pada siklus III memperoleh nilai 83. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa semakin baik pelaksanaan pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh guru, maka semakin baik pula nilai karakter siswa yang diperoleh. Kata kunci: Diskusi kelompok, nilai karakter, Pembelajaran IPS. ABSTRACT The aim of the research was to know the use of discussion method to increase the students’ character value at the eighth A class of junior high school No. 2 Pugung. The method used at this research was classroom action research. The objects of the research were 30 students of the eighth A class of Junior High School No. 2 Pugung in academic year 2012/2013. The data of the students’ character value were taken from observation sheet that conducted by the observer when the teacher was teaching. Whereas, the data of the the teacher’s ability in conducting the learning process was taken from IPKG sheet. The result of the research showed that the use of group discussion can increase the students’ character value in social subject. The result was proven from the increasing of the students’ character value from a cycle to another cycle. At the first cycle the students who achieved the character value only 10 students or 33.3%. At the second cycle it increased to 15 students or 50%, and the last cycle, it increased to 26 students or 87%. Then, the learning and teaching process that was conducted by teacher from one cycle to another cycle was good. It was proved from the first cycle the teacher got 64, at the second cycle got 74, and at the third cycle got 83. It shows that the better teacher conducts the teaching and learning process the better character value students achieve. Key word: group discussion, character value, Social studies
