Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)
Musik telah dijadikan sebagai alat penyampaian pesan tertentu dari sang pemusik atau pencipta musik tersebut. Grup musik asal Jakarta bernama Purgatory yang beraliran Death Metal mengambil jalan berbeda, yang menggunakan aliran musik ini untuk menyiarkan ajaran agama Islam. Berdasarkan fenomena tersebut, maka diperoleh rumusan masalah penelitian, yaitu bagaimana fungsi musik Death Metal sebagai penyampai pesan dakwah melalui lirik lagu dan aksi panggung grup musik Purgatory. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan bagaimana musik Death Metal dapat berfungsi sebagai penyampai pesan dakwah melalui lirik dan penampilan grup band Purgatory. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif serta teori Konstruksi Sosial yang digunakan sebagai pisau bedah pada penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu munculnya kenyataan dari kenyataan yang ada sebelumnya melalui lirik lagu dan aksi panggung Purgatory yang merupakan gagasan mereka untuk menyampaikan nilai-nilai Islam yang diakui serta diterima oleh masyarakat, sehingga memunculkan fungsi musik Death Metal sebagai penyampai pesan dakwah dan terus-menerus menciptakan pengakuan terhadap musik Metal Islami secara dialektik. Kata kunci: Musik, Dakwah, Konstruksi Sosial. Abstract Bahasa Inggris Music has been made as an instrument to delivery of a specific message of the a musician or the creator of the music. A group band from Jakarta named Purgatory used a different way, who has used this common genre to broadcast the Islamic regilion. Based on this phenomenon, and obtained formulation research problems, of how the music Death Metal function as the messenger of dakwah through lyrics of songs and the action on the stage made by Purgatory. The purposes of this research are knowing and describing of how Death Metal music could be used as messenger of dakwah trough lyrics of songs and the action on the stage made by Purgatory. This research adopted qualitative approaches descriptive and uses social and construction theory as the scalpel. The result of this research is the emergence of reality which comes from the previous fact through the lyrics and their action of the stage from Purgatory as their ideas to deliver Islamic values recognized and accepted by society, so brings up the function of Death Metal music as messenger of dakwah and constantly created recognition to Islamic Metal music dialectically.
